Library Lanai Opening Soon!

You asked for it, and now you're going to get it!

The library lanai on the second floor (by the DVD collection) will soon be open to the Chaminade public. The library staff have purchased five bistro sets, two chairs per table (see image left).

So far, two of the five sets have arrived. We are expecting the final three sets to arrive sometime next week. We still need to mount the furniture and add extra lighting (for night-time use).

The view from the lanai is amazing, especially when the sun is setting. We look forward to lanai being used as a place to take a break from studying and thaw out after being in the deep freeze of the library! The lanai will be a NO-smoking zone.

We anticipate that the lanai will be ready for use by the end of the undergrad Fall 2011 semester.

Food for Fines

Do you have outstanding library fines?

Canned goods can pay off your library fines.

Yes, you heard me right. You bring in 1 canned food item and the library will take off $2.00 from your fines!

Each patron can pay up to $20.00 of their library fines using canned goods. We accept non-perishable, unexpired food items. The canned goods will go to the Campus Ministry food drive.

The library's "Food for Fines" program runs from November 1 - November 23.

What are you waiting for? Start scouring your kitchen cabinets or check the local sales ads for canned goods!

One Purpose, Many Different Personalities

Celebrate Constitution Day with a fun quiz!

In 1787, 55 of the most influential men in American history came together with one intent. These men are known as the Founding Fathers of the U.S. Constitution and although these men shared a common goal, they were vastly different.

One Purpose, Many Different Personalities.

Curious to see which of the Founding Fathers you have the most in common with?
